from the dead? No, just back into recording and reflecting. ‘Been doing some creative stuff, then leaving it and realise how useful it is to collate and keep a record, add thoughts, hopes and even the odd pic now and then!

Working on some songs at the moment. Gonna try to do at least two or three a week, until I get back in the swing of it.

Will try and add to this blog most nights now, to throw down some ideas, etc.

So… I went for an interview at the University last week…and have been offered the post! Fantastic news! It is a role where I feel I can do a good job – where I feel capable and suitable for the position, but also where I hope to learn some new skills, and cut my teeth in working in a University. I am hoping this will help in future research as well as being valuable experience in teaching at University level. The role is Virtual Learning Environment Project Officer. Should be verrrry interesting, Mr Bond!

Artwork – well – I’ve been teaching some digital as well as traditional art classes at the College – which has gone well- but I still prefer to teach an older age group truthfully.

The MA and PGCE seem years ago, and it is hard to believe I only finished them last Summer.

I would like to do some digital art now without the pressure … so I think I will use this blog to organise/collate ideas for that. This seems like a good place to keep me motivated and on track – so I will continue on with this blog for that reason, besides, it’s nice to ‘talk’ to oneself without fear of being institutionalised!! ; )

Project finalized for now. Still some bits I am unhappy about (well quite a few bits), as technical hiccups halted last minute creativity plans, ahh well…

I intend to continue working on this to get it more to how I imagined, but for now, I think it shows the direction and an idea of where I’m heading ..

Show build

Well, after 5 hours of travelling, I made it down to London to the College to help with the build. The expected technical issues arose- cables, equipment, etc. I also helped set up work for a few online colleagues who couldn’t make it. It was wonderful to finally meet Andy and the other students - especially the onliners – with whom I have build a rapport and friendship with over the last two years.

It’s been a crazy exahusting week, with little sleep or regard for health. But it will hopefully be worth it. I am happy with my work for the time being. The perfectionist in me knows that I could do so much more in time, but for now, it is enough.

I still have a couple of tweaks to make to the site, but will post it here tomorrow.

I am sure the show will be a success – it is amazing to see how everyone’s work has developed, and there is a good sense of ‘pulling together’ form the team as a whole.

Viva la rollover revival!!

I was and am still debating the use of a rollover in my site. (I can hear Andy my tutor screaming “Noooooo!” in my head!). I DO think the time is right for a revival! The one I may use is fitting with the page and the theme: it is the child archetype of the psyche (Jung) it is innocence – the youth of the internet (if you will!), and so I feel that element will work (well, for me it does!). They are reminiscent of the old childhood pop-up books, or more, the ones which had a tab to pull, which changed the picture/scene!! Ahh, we’ll see if I cave (either way!!)

My PC is due to blow up shortly (please don’t!) due to insane activity….

I am blogging at this mad hour because it is rendering, well actually uploading a heavy swf to my site, and it is taking for-EVER!

I still have heaps to do: I have many pages done (bar some tweaking/smartening up) but I still have some sounds to add, some more imagery to finish, and then to link them all in a pleasing order….so not much then…. (waahhhh!)

Plan is, as I am off on a train down to London very early in the morning (this morning actually), to rubbishly link up the main pages I am concerned with (ie basic blue underlined link for now) – so I can test the site en-site as it were.

It feels like the more I get done, the more ideas I keep having to improve…. So drained now. Felt decidedly ill earlier…

This will have to be completed in full Sunday night. U2 Curation too….

What is the soul? Jung considered the activity of the soul to be the ceaseless flow of images that move through dreams, daydreams, fantasy, and myth. Images are as present during the day as they are running through our dreams at night, but during our waking lives they operate more or less unconsciously, affecting our lives in ways beyond our conscious knowing (Sardello, 1995).

The contents of the collective unconscious are called archetypes. Jung also called them dominants, imagos, mythological or primordial images, and a few other names, but archetypes seems to have won out over these. An archetype is an unlearned tendency to experience things in a certain way.

The archetype has no form of its own, but it acts as an “organizing principle” on the things we see or do. (Boeree, Dr. C. G, 1997/2006)

The archetype is like a black hole in space: You only know its there by how it draws matter and light to itself.
